Teams will still be able to set a reaction time remotely in the first ever virtual World Finals
Since the introduction of virtual finals, racing has been modified many times to help best reflect in-person competition aspects, especially at the 2020(21) World Finals.
In the time trial races, teams will use a virtual reaction time portal where they will submit four reaction times for use in the time trial racing. Those total race times will be used for seeding knockouts.
The big question, seeing as the knockout races are one of the most exciting aspects of competition.
As per usual, the top 24 teams from the time trial races will participate in the knockouts. They will submit reaction times for the knockout races as well.
Keeping some of the best parts of the knockout races, through the use of the reaction time portal F1 in Schools has kept the competitive spirit of the races alive.
However, knockout racing will not be worth any points. There will be a 10 point bonus awarded to the team with the fastest car race time from the time trial races.
Be sure to tune in on Monday 7 June at 2 PM (BST) to watch knockouts unfold.
